Riserva Wines
Riserva wines
- Among old world wines, this is a regulated appelation/label; it is supposed to indicate superior quality wines and also a minimum period of aging before being sold.
- Among new world wines, there is no such regulations but it generally means “superior” quality of wine (more likely better grape and more time in oak).
- In Spain, Reserva wine means 3 years aging for red and 2 years aging for white wines.
- In Italy, Riserva means an aging of 3 to 5 years depending on the producers.
